The average life span of a cat is 14 to 17 years. But a cat has been recorded to have lived up to 30 years. That must be one healthy cat! Indeed, cat health should be considered by cat owners if they want to spend a longer time with their beloved pets. Cats may look independent and proud, but they also need to be taken care of. Grooming is crucial for cats. You should always keep them clean to keep them away from diseases, infections and fleas. The best food to feed your cats is commercial cat food. Commercial cat food has all the nutrients that your cats need to keep them going, unlike the same food that you are eating. Cats are still hunters especially of mice. Mice are not exactly the cleanest animal there is on earth, that is why it is important that you watch what your cats eat. It is also advisable to feed your cats with greens because vegetables can aid in their digestion process. You should also not let your cats overeat as they are also prone to suffering from obesity. You should also be careful about letting your cat drink because there are adult cats that are lactose intolerant. Your cat should have a regular visit with the veterinarian even if it is not sick. The doctor can have a check up or prescribe medicines to keep your cats healthy. You should also be wary of the common diseases that affect cats like dental disease, ringworm, feline aids, asthma, and the most common, cystitis idiopathic, which is the inflammation of the urinary bladder. The cause is still unknown up to now. |
